Geckonia nel genre Tarentola??

Come da titolo, navigando nell'archivio immagini di www.geckosunlimited.com, ho visto che la Geckonia chazaliae, è stata trasformata in Tarentola chazaliae...... sapevo che era in programma uno spostamento dal genere Geckonia a quello Tarentola, anche perchè era l'unica rappresentante del genere...ma non credevo i tassonomisti lo avessero già fatto...

Già in molti siti ho visto Geckonia c. essere classificata come Tarentola chazaliae, anche se non sono certo che il l'inserimento nel genere Tarentola sia già ufficiale.

Ho appena letto un articolo del 2002, che parla appunto della riclassificazione del genere Geckonia e sostiene che grazie ad esami del DNA il genere Geckonia è collegato a quello Tarentola e quindi G. chazaliae dovrebbe diventare Tarentola chazaliae.

Comunque il fatto che esista un genere con una sola specie non significa che verrà per forza riclassificato ed unito ad un genere più grande. Vengono fatti studi morfologici e ultimamente del DNA per stabilire l'appartenenza ad un genere di una determinata specie. Vedrai cosa combineranno tra breve i tassonomisti con alcuni generi anche abbastanza numerosi
Basti vedere la divisione del genere Diplodactylus, che ha visto alcune specie entrare a far parte del nuovo genere Strophurus.

I read just now an article of 2002 which speaks about the classification of Geckonia gender, which justify with some DNA tests that the Geckonia gender is connected to Tarentola gender and so G. chazaliae will probably become Tarentola chazaliae.

Anyway if the gender has only one species this doesn't mean that they'll be classified again ad united with a bigger gender. Many morphological studies has been done and recently many Dna tests, to clearify the belonging to a certain species. You'll see what systematists are going to do with some numerous genders.
You can see the proof in the gender of Diplodactylus, which gave some of his species to enter in the new Strophurus gender.

Non so di preciso se sia ufficiale al 100%, ma credo che dall'articolo che ho letto se non è ufficiale dovranno renderlo tale, insomma con il DNA c'è poco da discutere

I don't know precisely if it is official, but I think that from the article that a read, if it is not official they'll make it official. With DNA tests you don't have much to discuss!!
