Il lavoro svolto dagli studiosi nel 2011 porta alla luce più di 20 nuove specie.
Come nel 2010, buona parte delle specie descritte nel 2011 sono appartenenti al genere Cyrtodactylus (Gekkonidae).
Oltre alle 12 nuove specie di Cyrtodactylus, sono almeno altri 5 i generi di cui si sono catalogate più di 4 nuove specie: Rhynchoedura (Diplodactylidae), Gekko (Gekkonidae), Hemidactylus (Gekkonidae), Asaccus (Phyllodactylidae).
